The U.S Marshal
Service has a long history
of protecting and supporting the United States
Federal Courts to make sure
individuals conducting judicial business are
safe and can perform their duties
fairly. The first duty is to search; they
have to search to find what they are
looking for. The second is to seize to
take possession; they need to be in
charge of what’s going on. The third is
to arrest to hold a person for court;
they are allowed to arrest someone if
they break the law. The fourth one is to
execute a judgment; they are
allowed to deliver a court’s final decision.
Deputy Marshals also have
to secure all places where federal judicial
business is conducted. They have
to protect all judges, jurors, witnesses and
other people whose safety maybe
threatened because of their duties. They have to
safely move prisoners to
and from court, make sure they are fed, receive medical
treatment and are
comforted. This is when they have to watch the jail. These
are some of their
duties they have a lot more duties.
The Marshal Service has various
programs to help protect everyone
involved in the different stages of the
judicial progress. There are six larger
programs these are harder. Fugitive Investigations, this is when prisoners escape
and do bad stuff. Witness
security has 24 hour protection before and during all
judicial proceeding.
Asset Forfeiture is vehicles- cars, boats and planes.
