Today's Marshal
The U.S Marshals Service has various programs to help protect everyone
involved in the different stages of the judicial process. There are larger
programs and smaller programs. The larger programs include Judicial Security,
Prisoner Service and Investigate Services. The core of the U.S Marshal Service
is the Deputies and Administrative personnel that work in the 94 districts all
over the U.S, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. They have a lot more programs.
The federal judicial process has procedures that deputy marshals must
follow. What that means is a court official gives warrants to deputy marshals
directing them to do a search, seizure or arrest or execute a judgment. They
also have to secure all places where federal judicial business is conducted.
They have to make sure everyone is safe and make sure people are where they are
supposed to be. They have to be very safe on the job.
A week on the job for the U.S Marshals is very important because they
don’t know what they will be doing next. They have to be ready for anything
because something could come up and they have to get right on it. They have to
work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If you miss a day you have
to catch up on what you missed and more. When you come home you are sometimes
still on duty because they email you to tell you what’s going on.
